I Remain the 4th studio album from The Glimmer Room, recorded through out the summer and autumn of 2009. After the complexity of the last album Home Without the Journey, this is a return to a more sparse sound first heard on Grey Mirrors. This album uses multi loop based systems similar to the systems of Brian Eno, to build up the basic tracks before the more melodic elements where produced. This provided the machines the space they needed to breath and throw up some truly intriguing avenues that would not have been explored with a more conventional approach to the composition. Slow long ambient loops that always develop and mutate underpin the melancholic washes of sound and melodies. In essence it is the album where the machines finally have became true friends.
I Remain is an album presented as one continuous piece of music but split into 9 discrete movements.
